This offer is for a complete used 24 width cast iron gear case assembly known as part # 610984, 61098400 and 51003200 which contains the gear set part # 510014 inside of it. This gear-case had a new helical ring gear and bushings installed a few years ago by us (the input shaft is original and was in perfect shape) – and then the motor on the unit gave up this winter. We decided to recycle the gear-case because this case is ready to use with little use received after the prior refresh – and it has good known parts in it. A new gear set by itself was last 262.00 and the last price for the original gear case was 699.00. There is a new version cast iron case that can replace this part- but it’s no where near as tough as the original was (is). This part is pre-built, and ready to install and use now. We are including a new bottle of Ariens L-3 full synthetic gear oil (worth 17.00) as well as new shear bolts for the auger tines, and new roll pins for the impeller – all you need to reassemble your unit is with the gear box. You will reuse your original aluminum/bronze support flanges for the rake shaft, and your original ball bearing for the rear impeller shaft. We’d suggest you check the impeller shaft support ball bearing while you are doing the job, because it’s 30+ years old too. Then this case assy will not work for you. We have carefully packed this part to make sure it arrives in good condition – we have placed poly tubes over the shaft ends to make sure they don’t poke out of the box and get messed up, and plenty of padding inside the box to minimize shifting. The new shear pins are under one of the box flaps, and the box is marked accordingly. The box is a work of art itself.
