Up for offer is a used fully functional Ariens 24 wide cast iron auger gearbox assy part # 510032 that includes the following parts to make up the assembly: internal gear set # 510014 (the original gear set was known by old #’s 10183 & 10177), cast iron gear case # 10180, side cover 10181, cross shaft 10299. This gear case was also known by the prior part # 610984. This gear case fits older Ariens snow blowers and it has the following unique features to identify it : A the shear bolts are the larger 5/16 dia. Size (some early versions have 1/4 bolts) B the auger rake cross shaft has bolt holes tapped into the ends of the shaft for retaining hardware (some early versions have BIG nuts on the shaft ends) C and the cast iron drive jaw would have splines on the tail shaft for the clutch jaw to slide back and forth – so you can disengage the front end from the rest of the drive. This unit design will have 2 clutch levers next to each other on the front end (early models only have one main clutch lever and cannot use this gear case assy). This part is in good condition w/ normal discolorations on the metal surfaces, and is ready to be re-assembled and used. We will include a new quart of gear oil with the gearbox so that you can refill it after it is installed. The original donor unit was broken down for parts after the engine took a vacation and never came back. We will supply a pair of new roll pins for the impeller/ fan and 2 new shear bolts for the auger tines for convenience of re-assembly. This part was from a snowblower with the model # of 910995 although this same part number was used on many older 5hp, 6hp, 7hp single belt powered two stage propelled snow blowers that Ariens made from 1950 thru 1970’s that are orange and white colored. This part was used on many older snow blowers, such as model #’s 10M5, 10M6, 10M6D, 10M7D, 10ML60D, 10ML60, 910002, 910006, 910007, 910008, 910009, 910010, 910013, 910014, 910016, 910017, 910018, 910019, 910020, 910021, 910942, 910954, 910955, 910962, 910965, 910995, 10942, 10954, 10962, 10969, 10970. Oo new – IF you could find one. The gear set alone is worth 279.00, the empty gearcase is worth 149.60 and that doesn’tinclude the side cap, bearings, bushings etc. So needless to say it would cost at least 500 – 600.00 dollars to recreate this box in new separate replacement parts!! – so don’t miss your chance to get it here for much less!
