Be ready for winter- this one has proven itself to be a perfect fit for Chicagoland, but I’m moving to where it doesn’t snow. Self powered Ariens ST504. 4 speeds forward, 1 reverse. 24″ x 16″ opening. Garage and shed kept. Runs great and looks pretty good. Snow chute direction control on handle. Has electric start but I always just primed and it started by 2nd or 3rd pull, even for first of winter use. Newer belts, serviced 2016. Ariens are built to run forever with very low maintenance. Ran it every winter snow or not, to keep it profiled then drained gas for storage. Don’t waste time with low ball offers- this is 1/3 of what a similar new Ariens goes for– but you look Chicago. Model 247.888550 Track Drive 28-inch 9-HP Snow Blower. This model has an electric start system and an easy pull type starting system. The specialized cord for electric starting is merely a short 3-prong extension cord. It’s a real great thing to have that electric starter on frigid mornings when you need to hurry and clear your driveway before going to work! The track drive system is rare and remarkable! If you use it once, you’ll just laugh at any personal snow removal equipment with tires. The tracks have 3-modes; heavy front downforce, floating front downforce, and raised front cutting edge. It’s E-Z Steer system makes fine turning control merely a matter of gentile squeezes of the finger. Their’s a turning brake for each individual track as a trigger switch on the bottom of the control handles. A pull of a trigger on the same side as the track stops it’s motion and has the machine effortlessly turning 180-degrees “on a dime” ready for the next cut. I’ve used mine for many years in the Williamsville NY area and it’s only signs of wear are the front cutting edge and the side skid plates.
