Our property is smaller and were going to try an electric snowblower. I use this machine every season and it never fails to start immediately and clear tons of snow. It is not perfect or a show piece and presents like a snowblower that has been used for the last 50 years. But it is a tank. Unit runs strong and works well but Im listing for parts or repair because it does have issues that someone who has experience with this type of equipment can likely solve and will probably want to do so. I believe this is the original Tecumseh engine on the unit. Other parts look original too but I cant be sure. Heres what I know but there may be other issues I havent recognized. It has issues keeping 1st gear engaged and slips to 2nd. Other gears and reverse seem to be fine. Not sure if this is a clutch issue or an adjustment issue. I replaced the throttle with a generic one that isnt the right size. It makes the throttle finicky and doesnt quite work right. Does work well enough for me. Appears to be a bit leaky around the bottom. May be that oil gaskets are leaking or seeping. Chute direction arm is a bit bent. Still moves properly though. Tires are very old and should be replaced. I had one of the tubes replaced last season and they do hold air and work. Place that replaced the tube didnt do a great job and ding the rim and used a tube that makes it difficult to put in air. Lots of scuffs, scrapes and dings you would expect in an old well used snowblower. As I said, there may be other issues, but this is what Ive noticed. Happy to answer any questions I can.
